The quarter bath

I love this tidbit from The Real Estate Bloggers:

We all know a full bath is considered a bathroom with a tub or shower. And a half bath is a bathroom with a vanity and toilet but lacking a shower.

But did you know that an Outhouse is considered a 1/4 Bath?

The picture reminds me of something you might see at a ski lodge.

I remember my first trips to North Carolina when I was young. My father grew up “Down East” in a small curve in the road near Whiteville. His sister’s family lived in a house that had no running water, no air conditioning, a wood stove and no indoor plumbling. The eight-hour trip down culminated in a stretch of road punctuated by the foul odors from the pulp plant that reminded me of an outhouse.

Their outhouse was well away from the main house. As a kid, though, there was no way I was going out there at night with a rinky-dink light. Snakes you know.
