Chicago non-profit lender receives prestigious financial award

Congratulations to IFF, formerly the Illinois Facilities Fund, for receiving the 2008 Wachovia NEXT Award for Opportunity Finance.

The award is one of the nation’s largest and most prestigious in the financial services industry.

IFF, a Chicago-based nonprofit real estate lender and consulting group received the honor for an innovative community financing model and aggressive strategy to expand. IFF provides its lending services in Illinois, Iowa, Indiana, Missouri and Wisconsin.

The lender’s services are particular important as the economy worsens and there is a greater need for health and human services. Its financing solutions has provided for the establishment of charter schools, child care centers, supportive housing and public health clinics, that serve low-income communities.

IFF, the Midwest’s largest Community Development Financial Institution specifically serving nonprofits, was founded in 1988.
